Industrial Hygiene Program for Schools

INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE SERVICES FOR SCHOOLS

Landmark has been providing our high-value industrial hygiene program with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) consulting services for higher education and public school facilities since our inception in 1999. Our industrial hygiene professionals conscientiously work in the educational environment where student safety is paramount. We create value for our clients by balancing facility operations requirements with responsiveness to faculty considerations, regulatory requirements, and practical budget controls.

K-12

Landmark has extensive expertise in facility hazardous building materials survey and abatement projects and recognizes student/faculty schedule constraints and safety requirements. We focus closely on abatement alternatives to reduce costs and expedite the process and seek windows of opportunity for abatement, including Holiday Break, Spring Break, and weekends. Our industrial hygiene services evaluate ways to sequence or phase projects, so priority areas are completed first. We recognize that educator and visitor relations are critical in minimizing disruption to operations and the successful management of expectations.

Landmark is highly experienced with EHS and industrial hygiene projects conducted according to the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) for K-12 schools. A clear understanding of the practical application of AHERA requirements is critical to the successful implementation of school projects. We understand best procedures for determining and documenting asbestos, lead paint, mold, and mercury-containing flooring sampling strategies, consistent usage of asbestos and lead hazard classifications, and air quality clearance requirements for abatement projects.

Services include:

  • Asbestos and Hazardous Building Materials Surveys.

  • AHERA-Compliant Surveys and Reporting.

  • Abatement Design and Specifications.

  • Abatement Cost Estimation for Planning and Forecasting.
