Energy Business Unit Manager / Director Location(s): Denver, CO

Landmark is seeking a senior professional to grow and lead efforts supporting new and existing energy clients. The Energy Business Unit Manager/Director will team with our Director of Industrial Hygiene, Director of Field Operations, Principal Engineer and the President in performance of certain strategic business development and tactical/technical aspects of our work in order to develop and enhance our relationships with new and existing customers. Energy industry experience should include oil and gas, coal, and generation and transmission. This position will be critical in accomplishing our goal of growing our business while maintaining the highest quality and reputation.

General Requirements:

  • Responsible for growing existing and targeted clients/contracts through account management & service to contribute to annual revenue goals.
  • Generates leads against target accounts and industries. Effectively identifies, qualifies and penetrates new opportunities. Establishes and maintains industry pipeline, forecast and commitment targets.
  • Assists with the response to RFPS and RFQs and preparations of proposals and participate in client presentations and other business development activities.
  • Responsible for the management and leadership of multidisciplinary projects for midstream oil and gas exploration and production, power plants, power substations, and transmission lines, including the development of project strategy, management of staff, client and agency interactions, project budgets and schedule, as well as technical aspects of projects.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with the energy client’s key project and senior management staff.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage and lead project through strong communication skills with the client and project teams.
  • Demonstrates through example, references and management skills, appropriate for this type of assignment.

Project Management:

  • Knowledge and experience in design and implementation of infrastructure improvements for oil and gas and generation and transmission.
  • Project management experience in decontamination and demolition of oil refineries, power plants and/or power substations
  • Provides the management, leadership and technical direction necessary to successfully execute complex projects for the energy industry. Develops project work plans, schedules, level of effort, budgets and hours for client projects.
  • Identifies and manages the best available resources for each project including staff, equipment, sub-contractors etc.
  • Coordinates staff scheduling with other project managers.
  • Responsible for implementing Landmark’s safety programs and understanding the client’s safety program and any unique or unusual project requirements.
  • Ensures project budget is managed and implemented effectively including budget tracking, revisions, invoicing, contracts, etc. are being completed.
  • Works with client regularly to ensure maximum project profitability.
  • Provides the management, leadership and technical direction necessary to successfully execute complex projects for the energy industry. Develops project work plans, schedules, level of effort, budgets and hours for client projects.
  • Basic and Required Qualifications
  • Minimum years of experience: Minimum of 10 years in the energy sector.
  • Education required: BS in engineering, industrial hygiene, science is required; MS preferred.
  • Travel Required: A minimum of 35% travel.

Skills required:

Proven experience in business development in the energy industry, an established reputation in the energy, and project technical expertise.
